Public Affair is a term used to describe an organisation’s relationship with stakeholders.

These individuals or groups with an interest in the organisations affairs such as Politicians, civil servants, customers and local communities& clients, shareholding, trade associations, Think tanks, business groups, charities, unions and the media.

Public affairs practitioners engage stakeholders in order to explain organisational policies and views on public policy makers and legislators in amending or laying down better policy and legislation.

They provide statistical and factual information and lobby on issues which could impact upon the organisations ability to operate successfully.

The Public Affairs Unit is saddled with the responsibility of propagating the image of Lagos State through the activities of Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board with effective machinery to promote the vision and aspiration of government.


A public affairs officer represents an organization or company as the face that the media sees.

A public relation officer must be content working tedious days but always ready for a media firestorm following an unexpected crisis.
